Property Law
Property law is a fundamental area of law within the broader field of property rights. Most matters within property law stem from the doctrines of obligations and property rights. Property law concerns the legal relationships involving things in a broad sense. Ownership rights are part of this field, and it is an area of law in which we have extensive expertise. Leasehold rights and rental agreements are total use rights, an area in which we provide significant assistance. We also assist with partial use rights, such as reindeer grazing rights and fishing rights.
Secured transactions, particularly in the context of mortgages, are a highly practical and necessary part of property law. We have experience working with secured transactions and, as decision-makers on boards, have frequently dealt with and managed collateral. We are proficient in secured transactions and have also been successful in challenging liens. Our experience indicates that such matters rarely end up in court.
We also handle cases related to patent law, trademark law, and copyright law. Disputes in these areas often lead to proceedings before the Patent Board or the courts.
